Balloon Deflates

KW 1 post Dec 03, 2008 11:24 AM	Just purchased a balloon but it keeps deflating. Lots of cold air coming down my pre-fab fireplace which I never intend to use. No rips, stays inflated when not up the flue. Could too much cold air be the reason? I live in a northern State.
jasonr 34 posts Dec 08, 2008 7:29 AM	Hi KW, When the Chimney Balloon is inflated by mouth the warm air that you blow into it will cool and sometimes this will compress the air inside the balloon enough that it will loose noticable pressure. Our first recommendation is to try topping it off with air after the air inside has had a chance to cool. If that does not work, I would recommend that you call our customer service line (608) 467-0229 and we can get you a replacement. It is not common, but occasionally there can be a defect that is casuing an issue. ---------- Jasonr Moderator
jasonr 43 posts Jan 21, 2009 7:53 AM	As a followup to this post...In late 2008 we found that there was a seam defect with some sizes of our Chimney Balloons that shipped to our customers. We informed our customers that we thought could have received a defective Chimney Balloon and offered them replacements. The Chimney Balloon should keep pressure for 6-12 months at a time. So, If you have an issue with your Chimney Balloon retaining air please call our customer service line with your order information (608) 467-0229 and we can get you a replacement. ---------- Jasonr Moderator
