For extra long life from your Smoke Pencil we recommend using rechargeable batteries instead of Alkaline batteries. Rechargeable batteries deliver 1.2 volts per cell consistently and maintain that voltage over time. 1.2V is the perfect voltage rate for the Smoke Pencils long-life operation. Furthermore, rechargeable batteries are reusable and limit toxic battery waste.
In contrast, Alkaline batteries tend to start at 1.5V or higher per cell and cause a thermal surge that can degrade the small heating element in the Smoke Pencil over time.
